Welcome to The Gielgud Academy

The Gielgud Academy is a performing arts school based in Sussex for children age 3-18. We offer professional vocational training in all dance disciplines, singing and theatre arts with qualified teachers who are all former professional performers, ranging from Royal Ballet Principals to West End choreographers. We are blessed with male teachers for the boys to inspire a new generation of Billy Elliots.

We are proud of our affiliation with Gielgud Management - one of the UK's leading talent agencies which ensures professional theatrical work opportunities are brought to the GAPA pupils. Also benefitting the pupils is our affiliation to Gielgud Films - an award winning film production company that specialises in filming dance and the arts.

We have the support and patronage of some of the leading dignitaries from the world of dance including the Queen of British Ballet  'Dame Beryl Grey DBE'  and the legendary First Lady of Musical Theatre 'Gillian Lynne CBE'. Our other patrons are former Royal Ballet star 'David Wall CBE' and his wife 'Alfreda Thorogood' (former Royal Ballet Principal and former Head of Elmhurst), the Internatinal dance star and award winning director 'Peter Schaufuss' and the award winning choreographer and newly appointed Director of Scottish Ballet 'Christopher Hampson'.
